Bankroll Management 101: The Short & Sweet Playbook 🏈💰

💡
1. Build a “Betting Piggy-Bank.”
- Only use money you can lose and still pay rent, food, and bills.
- Call it your bankroll.
- Keep it in a separate account or wallet so it never mixes with life money.

💡
2. Pick a Unit Size (the chip you play with).
- A good rule: 1 – 3 % of the bankroll per bet.
- Bankroll $1,000 → 1 % = $10 units.
- Bankroll $5,000 → 2 % = $100 units.
- Every single bet is measured in units, not gut feelings.

💡
3. Stick to the Unit - Win or Lose.
- Hit a cold streak? Do NOT double or “make it all back” in one swing.
- Hot run? Great—keep sizing the same until you officially raise the bankroll (see Step 6).

💡
4. Set a Season Window.
- Treat each bankroll like a 3- to 6-month season ticket.
- This helps you ride out losing weeks without panic.

💡
5. Track Everything.
- Log date, sport, line, odds, result, and units won/lost (spreadsheet, app, or notebook).
- You’ll spot leaks (sports/markets that drain you) and strengths (your money spots).

💡
6. Level Up Responsibly.
- Double the bankroll? Nice. Now raise unit size but only by the same 1-3 % rule.
- Example: bankroll grows from $1,000 → $2,000: units climb from $10 → $20.

💡
7. Guardrails to Save the Stack.
- Set a daily stop-loss (e.g., 3 units).
- Hit it? Walk away until tomorrow.
- Set a weekly stop-loss
- (e.g., 8-10 units) for extra safety.

💡
8. Mindset = Edge Protection.
- Losses happen—even to pros.
- Discipline beats “lock of the day” hype 100 % of the time.

💡
- How many bets to place per day?
- My recommendation is to only risk 1-5% of your bankroll per day
- Example: $10,000 bankroll + 1% per bet unit size
- You should only risk about $100-$500 per day
- That could equate to 1-5 bets if you are sticking to 1 unit per bet
- The goal is the place bets where we have MAX conviction on
- If you are not sure or don’t have an edge, SKIP IT & move on!

Quick Example
| Scenario |
Action |
| Bankroll = $2,500 |
Choose 2 % units → $50 each bet. |
| One Friday night |
You like 3 plays → bet 3 x $50 = $150 total (no sneaky $200 “extra-confidence” bombs). |
| End of month: bankroll $3,250 |
Up 15 units. Still under 2× growth, so unit stays $50. |
| Three-month mark: bankroll $5,100 |
Bankroll more than doubled—new unit = 2 % of $5,100 ≈ $100. |
